Some common frequently asked questions?

Q. I get an error when I boot my computer of "Non-system disk or disk error. Replace and strike any key when ready" What is going on?
A. You may have a non-bootable disk in one of your drives. First thing to typically check is if there is a floppy disk in the drive. Remove that disk and reboot. If that is not the issue, then you may have a failing hard drive. We can help!

Q. Should I leave my computer on or turn it off and on each time I use it?

A. The answer really lies in your usage. There is nothing wrong with leaving a computer running continuously other than the small amount of energy it uses. If you are a regular user and sit at the computer many times during the day then leaving it on would be advisable. If you rarely use the computer such as checking email a couple times a week then turning it off and on may be a good answer for you.

Q. Is a wireless network secure? I have heard that you have to be careful.

A. The real answer is a wireless CAN be secure if set up properly. The use of encryption, filtering, and strong passwords will go a long way in keeping your data and network safe. We can help and set up your network according to your needs.

Q. I want to access my home computer from work and saw advertisements for pay services. Is there a way to do this without incurring high monthly charges?

A. Yes. If you are able to leave your computer on at home and there are no limitations on accessing outside computers from within your companies network then it is possible. This scenario has a few free (no monthly charge) possibilities that could be implemented based on your requirements. We can help!
